"I have been teaching Argentine Tango on a part-time basis since 2009, mostly privates, workshops, drop-in classes and occasional bootcamps and series of classes. Teaching is one of my greatest passions and an eternal growing journey. Through experimenting with classes and tempo of instruction, I developed a particular approach and happy to share it with dancers of any level to help learn Argentine tango and how to dance to traditional and non-traditional music, as well as to implement tango elements to fusion and kizomba practice. My teaching approach is based on helping students to not only learn and extend their tango vocabulary, however also to boost their body awareness, improve balance and axis, core; experience embrace and connection with the partner, connection with the floor (groundness), navigation skills (floor craft - dancing as an invisible team) and of course, connecting to the music. I prefer to include tips on musicality, connection and navigation into most classes & many workshops as these are essential things that help to create a smooth, creative dance whichever music it is dance to or whichever tempo or mood is expressed. Both following and leading can be a lot of fun and I love to encourage people to explore both "roles" in tango, as well as swapping roles once in a while when even dancing with the same partner. It builds a very special connection and relationship as well as helps developing a lot of dancing and communication skills, express yourself in a various ways… Tango is an endless inspiration in many ways and I am grateful for what I've learnt through dancing and what I have a chance to express, and I myself keep learning and exploring tango. Look forward to sharing the best of tango and other dances with aspiring and experienced dancers. DANCING & ORGANIZING:
"It's important to me to be open-minded, generous, genuine and creative, especially in dancing and socializing. Tango is not only a great dance and an exciting journey on its own, it's also a chance to SHARE, to learn something new, discover other people and yourself, a chance to create some special enjoyable NOW where both of the tango partners can find this true connection & enjoy dancing to the beautiful music when no words are needed and the dance is unique… When I am organizing a tango event what makes me happy is to be able to create a relaxed and cozy atmosphere where people can enjoy the music and easily express themselves in dancing and socializing. Where they would feel accepted and inspired in some way." "I've got a lot of favorite tango teachers/ dancers and like the approach of Alex Krebs (USA), Homer & Cristina Ladas (USA), Eric Jorrissen (NL), as well as the great Argentine tango masters like Julio Balmaceda & Corina de la Rosa, Oliver Kolker & Silvina Vals, Chicho Frumboli, Pablo Inza, Mariela Sametband, Sebastian Arce & Mariana Montes, Diego El Pajaro (Riemer), Mario Consiglieri & Anabella Diaz-Hoffman, Gaston Torelli and Moira Castellano and many others, both Tango Salon and Nuevo Tango teachers. Special thanks and hugs to the Russian teachers which whom I started my tango learning experience: Mila Vigdorova, Slava Ivanov & Olga Leonova, Ekaterina Khvatova, Valya Ustinova, to Paras & Paul (NL/ Taboe Tango Camp) and to Meng Wang for helping me improve my tango leading skills." |
