WORKSHOPS with MENG WANG (China / USA)
WHEN: October 29 - November 1st, 2015 WHERE: EDAM DANCE STUDIO 303 E.8th ave., Vancouver (all workshops except the workshop before Duello Milonga on Sat 31st) No Partner is required however we still recommend finding a partner and bringing your friends! :) *** Partners will be rotated at the workshop (when coming as a couple, it is still recommended to try doing some exercises with at least 1-2 other partners). REGISTRATION is required! (prompt registration helps to balance leaders and followers, thank you in advance!) Bring a bottle or water to stay hydrated. THU - October 29th in collaboration with El Centro Tango Practica (W1) 7.30pm - 9pm Followed by the El Centro practica Tango 1: Milonguero, Salon and Nuevo – Understanding the differences and how to achieve specific look of the style (Int & up) (NB: if you are a beginner, you can also take this class yet, please, bring your own partner) FRI - October 30th The day of private classes with Meng / Meng & Tatiana see info and rates below. (All Levels) SAT - October 31st (W2) 1pm - 2.20pm @ Edam Dance Studio Tango 2: Change of Dynamic – Using practical figures to add more range to one’s dancing (Int & up) (W3) 2.30pm - 3.50pm @ Edam Dance Studio Tango 3: Off-Axis Movements – Colgaditas and Volcaditas in practical figures, it doesn’t have to be that risky! (Int / Adv) SAT - November 31st @ Academie Duello (W4) 8.30pm - 9.30pm - workshop before DUELLO Milonga Interesting steps for small spaces (Int & up) SUN - November 1st (W5-6) 2.30 - 4.30pm @ Edam Dance Studio a 2-part MILONGA workshop (2 hours, we will take a short break with some refreshments :) (Int / Adv, experience in dancing milonga is required!) Milonga 1 : Suave – how to be smooth and effortless Milonga 2: Speed – how to be fast and furious Partners are required for some workshops, and in general are recommended. Drop-ins are possible with a partner only. Please register in advance. Partners will be rotated in most workshops, however you can choose to stay with your partner. PRIVATE CLASSES with MENG & TATIANA: NB: to register for a private class you have to get a ticket to 1 group workshop (prepaid). Privates are available on the first come first serve basis and require a deposit of minimum 50%. 1 class with Meng - $65 / 1 student or $85 for 2 1 class with Meng & Tatiana - $125 for 1-2 students Classes will be hold in a private room in the Kitsilano studio & at the Broadway Ballroom studio (rental fee is charged separately - $12/h for Broadway Ballroom) ........................................................................................................................... ONLINE REGISTRATION: Step 1: transfer the right amount to the PayPal "[email protected]" with a note "follower" or "leader". or you can pay by e-transfer or in cash at the local tango events (contact to arrange the payment). Step 2: fill out the form on this page. once I get the payment and information, your registration is complete. Notes for payments: 1) PayPal fees are paid by the organizer. Requires a paypal account. E-transfer fees are paid by the student (Canadian banks and Credit Unions) 2) Students will have to provide their valid student ID on the day of the workshop. Student passes are limited (6 total) Thank you in advance for your inquiries and registration.
Note, that workshops have to be pre-paid and they are non-refundable (unless it is a force major matter), however you can exchange a workshop 1 time if there are places available for other ones.
